Welcome to the Hitrapia website.

This site is dedicated to the voyages of the Yacht 'Hitrapia', a 1977 Warrior 35 mkIII, and her crew - Wayne and Angie Attwood. The main purpose of the site is to catalogue our adventures for friends, family and anyone else who wishes to follow our travels to distant shores.

The structure and content of the site is to be intentionally simple to aid updating and downloading. We tend to make more substantial updates to the site during the winter, and only add latest news and charts as we are traveling. So please do look in from time to time, to check for updates, even if the site hasn’t been updated for a while!

Please note: Wayne's Artwork Gallery, inc his latest paintings can be found here.

The story so far...

We began our voyage from Plymouth just before midnight on 4th May 2005, heading south across The English Channel en-route toward Lagos in Portugal, where we spent winter '05, before continuing our 2006 voyage into the Mediterranean Sea. After following the Southern Spanish coast we headed offshore to enjoy the beautiful Balearic Islands, then continued east to Sardinia and the Island of Sicily before finally arriving at the Island of Malta, where we enjoyed winter '06. In 2007 we continued East, cruising through the Ionian and Aegean Greek Islands and along the Turkish coast, overwintering at Kemer Marina, near Antalya.

Having enjoyed two years pottering eastward deeper into the Med, we made passage back west during 2008, revisiting some favourite spots and also discovering lots new. Heading back to our favourite - Malta.

After an extended stay in Malta, we are off again! Heading slowly toward Greece during 2010, we will spend more time in Sicily and mainland Italy, exploring new places we have previously missed.
